Blue Sky Network Equipment Selected for Fire Fighting Aircraft

Tracking and communications solution used to ensure the location of fire fighting fleet

La Jolla, Calif. – June 12, 2007 – Blue Sky Network, the global logistics solution provider for two-way linking and managing transportation assets via satellite, today announced the U.S. Forest Service selected its equipment for use in large air tankers that are used to fight wildfires. Blue Sky Network’s equipment will assist in communication and location tracking of the U.S. Forest Service’s fleet during wildfire fighting operations throughout the United States.

Sixteen D2000MA terminals are installed onto the large air tankers which locate, monitor and control wildfire activity over the entire country. Air Tankers equipped with the terminals are already flying over the Southern U.S., Nevada and California as part of an initial attack and suppression of large fires. Forest services in British Columbia and Alberta have also already integrated Blue Sky Network equipment and services into their fighting fires efforts in Western Canada.

“It is an honor to be chosen by the U.S. Forest Service and offer our technology to facilitate their fire fighting and wildlife protection efforts,” said Jon Gilbert, Blue Sky Network’s president, founder and CEO. “Our equipment is perfectly suited for their needs and makes it very easy to see where their entire fleet is at all times, in real-time.”

The D2000MA terminal is a compact and carry-on flight-tracking device which supplies customers with real-time position reporting of their helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, while also providing continuous text messaging and short code reporting between pilots and ground crew. Utilizing next-generation technology, the D2000MA offers operators the ability to easily monitor the locations of multiple aircraft, so they know the location at all times.
