Blue Sky Network Outfits GSJV Trucks with the HE5200 Satellite Tracking Solutions for the Aurora Gold Project

Blue Sky Network (BSN), a leading global provider of truck satellite tracking and fleet management solutions for aviation, land mobile, maritime and mining industries, is excited to announce that it will be outfitting the Graña y Montero and Sedgman Limited Joint Venture (“GSJV”) trucks for the Aurora Gold project in Guyana. This project will be delivered through a joint venture with leading South American constructor Graña y Montero (GyM) and project delivery firm Sedgman (SDM) from Australia.

Blue Sky Network’s HawkEye 5200 (“HE5200”) satellite tracking solution will be installed on each truck to increase safety and allow for better fleet management. It will be used to monitor critical loads travelling between the port and project site where GSM coverage is limited. The HE5200 GPS tracking devices provides Iridium-only connectivity in a robust device. The reliability of Iridium network delivers uninterrupted fleet truck satellite tracking even in the most remote regions: providing 100% global visibility. The HE5200 offers unparalleled configurability and convenience to track assets in challenging environments. Additional options include adding the driver-friendly LCD touchscreen display, On-Board Diagnostic System (OBDII), door sensor, temperature/humidity or iButton.

HE5200 for Mining

Blue Sky Network offers installed and portable truck satellite tracking systems for the Mining industry. With Iridium as the satellite service provider, BSN’s voice and asset tracking systems provide steady and reliable global communication anywhere in the world, including the most remote areas. Mineworkers may also opt for the sister product, the HawkEye 5300 (“HE5300”), dual-mode Iridium/GSM solution, which provides seamless switchable Iridium-GSM connectivity working together in one robust device. The flexibility of the HE5300’s automatically switchable dual mode, helps ensure “always connected” global visibility. Blue Sky Network is a pioneer in the development of truck satellite tracking and two-way communication for remotely active private, commercial, and government fleets worldwide. BSN’s core business is leveraging the Iridium satellite network with superior engineered tracking and communication hardware integrated with the industry-leading cloud based Command Center – SkyRouter. As with all solutions, enhanced safety and security features make Blue Sky Network the perfect choice for the Mining industry.

Sedgman is a leading provider of mineral processing and associated infrastructure solutions to the global resources industry with offices in Africa, the Americas, Asia and Australia. The GSJV joint venture combines Sedgman’s robust process engineering, execution knowledge and operational experience with local capability depth from GyM. Aurora is earmarked to produce 3.29 million ounces of gold, averaging 194,000 ounces per year, over an initial 17-year mine life. The Engineering, Procurement and Construction scope of works includes a 1.75 Mt/a processing plant, power station and integration management. The Aurora Project award came on the back of Sedgman’s successful delivery of the Mungari Gold Project in Western Australia, which achieved first gold pour in early 2014. It firms Sedgman’s reputation as a gold processing specialist and confirming GyM’s ability to deliver construction projects in remote environments across many countries in the South American region. The GSJV provided detailed process guarantees for the gold plant ensuring the final design meets Guyana Goldfields’ production needs.
