Manassas, Va., September 4, 2024 – Blue Sky Network and NAL Research today announced that their resilient anti-piracy maritime solution, SkyLink® Citadel, is now available with Iridium Satellite Time and Location® (Iridium STL®). The new feature enhances SkyLink Citadel’s capabilities by adding the only low earth orbit (LEO) based alternative positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) service.

Leveraging the power of Iridium Certus® 100, SkyLink Citadel delivers two High-Definition (HD) voice lines and the capability to send and receive messages, files and emails via onboard computers. Integrating Iridium STL, SkyLink Citadel complements global positioning systems (GPS) and global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) by leveraging a signal that is approximately 1,000 times more powerful. This easy-to-install and operate anti-piracy solution delivers seamless HD voice and data connectivity with resilient location tracking, even in the most remote and austere environments.

The recent merger of Blue Sky Network and NAL Research offers both brands an expanded suite of capabilities, including NAL’s assured positioning, navigation and timing (APNT) solutions. Its SkyLink Citadel solution is now designed to mitigate vulnerabilities in GPS/GNSS, ensuring continuous access to accurate location data and time synchronization.
