Blue Sky Network Appoints Aviator and Start-Up Veteran as Chief Technology Officer

San Diego, CA, September 8, 2020 – Blue Sky Network announced today that Ron Hume has joined the company as Chief Technology Officer and will report to its CEO, Tucker Morrison. Jeff McFarland, founder of Applied Satellite Engineering – a Blue Sky Network subsidiary – will remain with the company as Senior Advisor. “Since founding his company nearly 20 yrs ago, Jeff’s hats and roles have changed significantly. What hasn’t changed is his devotion to delivering intuitive products and unrelenting approach to customer experience”, said Mr. Morrison.

“Ron’s technological background and familiarity with our solutions are two powerful assets to layer into our organization,” added Mr. Morrison. Ron will lead the strategic initiatives for our SaaS applications as well as device technology development for improved data connectivity. Ron is named inventor on 6 US patents for telecommunications, networking, and mobile technologies and exercises his commercial pilot’s license to explore interesting places.

Mr. Hume holds his undergraduate degree in Computer Science from the University of New Brunswick in Canada, Advanced Graduate Certificate in Computing Security from the DHS and NSA Center of Excellence at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in New York, and graduate studies in Data Science at the T.H. Chan School of Public Health at Harvard.
